About Megan...

Megan Medley Hester was born in Haskell, TX on May 1, 1984.  Raised in the small town of Gatesville and the youngest of four children, Megan was an active child, involved in dance and theatre.  After graduating with a BA in Communications from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Megan made her way to the big city of Dallas where she worked as a recruiter for a staffing company for two and a half years.  Realizing that the corporate world was not for her, Megan decided to return to higher education and relocate to Austin.  She now works for Concordia University Texas as a regional admissions counselor, while working on her Master's degree in Education.  Megan was blessed with this job that has allowed her the flexibility to move back to DFW and closer to Grant.  Even though she never attended Texas Tech University, she considers herself an "honorary Red Raider," a trait that attracted Grant to her in the first place :)

Megan is so excited to start her life with Grant!  She is especially honored to share the wedding date of her late parents, who got married on April 6, 1968.  She knows that they are both in Heaven smiling upon the future Mr. and Mrs. Yancey.

About Grant...

Garrett Grant Yancey was born in Houston, TX on March 13, 1984.  He has an older brother and a younger sister.  Raised in Clear Lake, Grant was active in sports, especially baseball.  He went off to college nine hours away toTexas Tech, where he was a member of the KA fraternity and sang lead vocals for a popular Lubbock band, Red Team Go.  In addition to all the great memories he made at school, he also earned a BBA in General Business and Marketing.  Grant is now a Landman with Bryson Kuba, LP for XTO Energy Inc.  As an avid TTU sports follower, Grant has held season tickets for Red Raider football for the past five years.  He is especially looking forward to the road trips to Lubbock this season with his favorite "Red Raider" girl riding shotgun.

Grant is looking forward to celebrating his marriage with all of his awesome friends and family.

How we met...

Grant and Megan first met on a road trip with friends to Norman, OK for (you guessed it) a Texas Tech football game in 2008.  Even though their paths kept crossing at various parties and football games over the years, it wasn't until the two met up for dinner in 2010 that the sparks started to fly.  Grant was working on a project in Gonzales, so he asked Megan to meet up for a casual dinner in south Austin.  After three hours of conversation, they both knew that this might be more than friendship.  A couple months and few dates later, Grant and Megan realized that they had not only found a best friend in one another, but a partner with whom they wanted to spend the rest of their lives.
